OTF

Earlier this year, the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) and our government partner developed the first of two surveys — one to be carried out this school year and one next school year.

Over the  last  two years, OTF has been enthusiastically working with the Aboriginal  Education Office  (AEO)  of the   Ministry of  Education to  increase teacher awareness of the Ontario First Nation, Métis and Inuit  (FNMI)  Education Policy Framework.

Every Year OTF, in partnership with OTIP (the Ontario Teachers’ Insurance Plan), recognizes the outstanding work of educators across Ontario. The OTIP Teaching Awards were established in 1991 and are held in conjunction with World Teachers’ Day, Oct. 5.

Business as usual at OTF means that research is constant and ongoing. While OTF conducts its own research as needed, we are often informed by carefully reviewing and analyzing the research of others.

OTF engages in many activities to promote education throughout the province.

Is there any time in the school year that is more hectic than the  fall?  Arguably, all  seasons are jam-packed, but the start of a school year seems to be especially busy. At  OTF, autumn brings a whirlwind of  activities and events.

Advocacy and social justice work at theOntario Teachers’ Federation takes many forms. OTF has a long-standing interest in supporting teachers and students notonly across the province but also nationally and internationally.
